Smart City Telecom Telecommunications Service Notice

To All Customers of Smart City Telecom:

On December 18, 2000, the Florida Public Service Commission originally designated Smart City Telecom as the "Eligible Telecommunications Carrier" or "ETC" for our two local service areas of Lake Buena Vista and Celebration, Florida for universal service purposes. The goal of universal service is to provide all citizens access to essential telecommunications services. Once again, on August 20, 2008, the Florida Public Service Commission, as it does annually, reaffirmed Smart City Telecom’s ETC designation.

Smart City Telecom provides single party residence (with unlimited local usage) and business service for rates which range from $7.35 for residential customers in Lake Buena Vista and $11.47 for residential customers in Celebration, and $18.03 per month for business customers in Lake Buena Vista and $25.56 for business customer in Celebration. In addition to the above monthly recurring rates for these services, taxes, fees, and other surcharges may apply. These single party residence and business services include access to the following services, use of which may result in additional charges:

• Long distance carriers
• Emergency services
• Operative services
• Directory assistance
• Telecommunications Relay Services
• Other services designed to persons with disabilities
• Toll blocking

In addition, Smart City Telecom provides one copy per access line of its annual local Directory without charge.

Touch Tone service is available at no additional charge.

Since 1997, Smart City Telecom has been offering Lifeline and Link-Up Service to qualified customers. If you are a Low Income customer you may qualify for Smart City Telecom’s Lifeline Assistance and Link-Up Program. This means you may receive a monthly discount for your basic phone charges as well as a discount for line connection charges and free toll blocking for qualifying customers.
